This podcast is brought to you by the Mail Tribune. Check it out here.

Mikaela is an elementary school teacher. She is the 2017 winner of the limelight video contest… in which she told her story – living and teaching with a form of dwarfism and blindness.

Mikaela teachers lower elementary school children – most of whom – she is smaller than. She also does this with a visual impairment that causes her to be legally blind.

In this episode, you’re going to hear a lot about the challenges that come with being a teacher in the 21st century, how you can help your child be successful socially and how Mikaela deals with violent outbursts in her classroom.

“We are all worthy of respect and love from others regardless of what we look like, or sound like or what other people think our capabilities are or are not. Click To Tweet

PLUS, we’ll talk about how Mikaela has always been optimistic. Her secret to having the happiness skill and how to start loving the very person you are today.
